Bassmaster Classic Day Final: Liveblogging

Well I think Walker is a longshot at this point.  I am predicting that the Rooster Greg Vinson is gonna take it.  I guess we will see.

It's 2 O'clock and it looks like Vinson and Lane are about tied with Lane having the edge on Basstrakk.  The thing is Vinson is locking and Lane is fishing because he went back to Pool 5 early.  Timmy Horton has a good bag but needs a super kicker or two.

Well it looks like Chris Lane and Vinson left the door open, but it doesn't seem like anybody stepped up to walk through it.  It looks like nobody busted a huge bag, but then you never know.

Arkansas won the College Classic.

Once again they fail to show video clips and keep the camera on Zona and Sanders.

Must of just did the National Anthem, I was taking the dog out.

Intro: Awesome A-Mart getting whacked by a fish.

Weigh In Time:
Going to be interesting to see if Jamie Horton gets booed.  I think he deserves it for insulting the crowd yesterday.

Well he didn't get booed but he didn't get much cheering.  He kind of made amends by talking about how great the crowd and Louisiana is.

Kevin Wirth didn't get teary and he stuck up for his Merc.

Looks like Poche may in the Super 6

Dave Walker may be Super 6
Nope Walker just came out.
Nope Poche just came out.
Poche moves into 1st, maybe he should have been.

Doing Berkley Havoc cast for $100,000
He missed it, he chose to pitch it and it was a bit to far away I think

oh great Zona Sanders and Byron
interesting video of guys running into the backwaters

Go to commericials, switch looking at arena to on screen.  Once again after not doing it to show the fish catches, least they didn't have the camera's totally on Zona & Sanders

Dustin Wilks first intro'ed he hop's in his boat and they call Evers and he gets in his boat same for B.Lane then Alton, then Vinson, Then C Lane

Bring on Poche for the hot seat.

Wilks into 4th with 44-12
Evers  43-8 into 5th
B Lane 5-14 takes him down to 17th, OUCH!
Alton 14-3 and he takes 2nd place and the crowed roars for Poche
"I can see it in his eyes, he's gott'em" about Vinson
The Rooster 13-7 into 1st with 47-15
Points out his wife and new kid
I think Chris has got him

Chris Lane takes it with 51-6

Chris Lane Bassmaster Classic Champion!!!

He kneels down for raising the trophy, not quite a Tebow

And the Victory Lap.

Odd people on the Internet complaining there is no coverage.  Maybe they have dial up?

Classic Day 2: LIveblog

It sounds to me after reading the recaps that Bobby Lane, The  Rooster, and Poche are in a pretty solid position.  I think Ott, Wilks, anc Chris Lane are in a precarious position as that their areas seam to be crowded.  Chris Lane isn't even going to fish the same place today.  I am unsure about Evers and Walker.  But honestly I think it's entirely possible the winner will not even come from Day 1's top 8.  There are just to many good sticks down to about  27th Place with Van Dam that could conceivably put a couple of 20lb bags up.  This thing is still wide open

OK I'm up at 10AM trying to get caught up.

I must say I enjoyed the War Room stuff on Bassmasters.  I didn't catch much of Bass Zone Wide Open because of it.  It sucks that Bass Zone doesn't have their evening show.

Man, I hope Walker has more than 2 fish.

It looks like they are once again going to show Zona and Sanders instead of the action on the screen.  Oh my they went to the screens for once.  How hard is that producers?

Hmmm Havoc is Skeets Top Sponsor

Come on producers go to the SCREENS!!! Morons!!!

Finally the national anthem

The Weigh In Bits and Pieces:
Edwin is 1st up. Has a pig 14-4 with a 6-4 puts him up 2lbs on Basstrakk

Keith Combs pulls a toad, gets 15-1 which is a pound up on Basstrakk.  Has a couple guys in his area.

Swindle pulls out a slob 4 fish for 13-6.  He's hilarious as usual when he doesn't catch'em. Probably makes the cut.

Faircloth pulls a slug and he weighs 18-12, biggest bags so far.

Funny Brent Chapman didn't pull his big fish, guess it wasn't as big as they said.  He got 15-10

Fletcher Shyrock might not make the cut with just under 20lbs

Bobby Lane gets 14-8 takes the lead that is a pound above his Basstrakk

Denny disappoints with just 1 fish.

Tim Horton wears the jumpsuit and pulls two pigs out.  He's got a Hula Popper patch.  Does a tribute to the old Pro's.  "NFL's got the throw backs now we do too" He weighed 17-4 out of nowhere as he didn't have anything on Basstrakk.

Poche drops down the to 3rd and falling

Steve Kennedy "I suck"

Ott Defoe falls to 8th and falling

Matt McCoy brings in 17lbs.  "I got em in the boat" as to what he did different.

They aren't updating the Live Leaderboard as crisply as yesterday.

Ish took a late penalty due to I think what were KevinWirth's boat problems.  He was not happy about it and throws him under the bus because it is costing him the cut. It was because they held up the lock for him.
Nope it wasn't Wirth,
Update-Turns out is was Wirth

Randy Howell "I thank the Lord most for my smoking hot wife"

Rojas pulls out a tank, wow it only went 4-14 thought that was a 6

Walker does have a limit for 12-4 puts him into 3rd for now.  "The rumor's of my demise were greatly exaggerated"

Dustin Wilks put 2 pounds on his Basstrakk weight and moves into 3rd

The Rooster gets into first with  34-8 almost 4lbs on Bobby Lane

Alton has 17-14 for 31-11 and into 2nd just as Basstrakk said.

Wirth gets emotional about having one more day to fish.

Marty the Party does his dance. Thanks trip for helping him with his dancing at the end.

Chris pulls a toad out and he has 19-4 and he takes 1st, beat Basstrakk by 6lbs. Has a pound on The Rooster

Wow Mr. Horton rubs it in on the LSU fans.

Bill Lowen comes in 2lbs under Basstrakk

Hackney water fell out on him might not make the cut.

AMarts 15-10 is a lb up on Basstrakk. He is in 8th one ahead of Walker.

Ike gets 13 and makes the cut for now in 25th, but KVD is left

And KVD kicks out Ike.  Tak is last in and Hackney makes it as well.

Weigh In Over

Doing Hook'd Up with Chris Lane
and the feed cuts in mid interview.

So it's C. Lane, Vinson, Alton, B.. Lane, Evers, and Wilks in the Super 6

Press Conference to start soon:
Bobby we don't see each other

"Bobby it's a dream come true"

Chris Lane was helped by seeing Matt Reed catch fish, apparently Reed and Lowen are in the same area.

Classic Day 1: Liveblogging

It's now 11AM and I am up,  First thing was to check the live blog.  Unfortunately for some reason only the first page is showing up so I can't read up on what happened from the start. (they got that fixed)

Alright my boy Dave Walker is in the lead with 16lbs+

Got to take the dog out.

Now we find out Walkers marshal screwed up.  He has about 13lbs. Looks like he got himself up to 15lbs.

It's now 2:26PM and there is no sign of Mark Tucker on Basstrakk.  Hopefully his tracker is broken or his marshal didn't know how to use it.  Brandon Palanuik is also not on the the Basstrakk. No Denny Brauer either.

Hmmm they are giving different results on Hook'd Up than on Basstrakk.

Crap Liveblog on Tucker:

Mark Tucker, on a good day, would have five bass in his livewell with enough weight to keep him in contention after Day One of the Classic. But it has not been a good day so far.

Part of his problem was self-inflicted. Tucker has spent all day in Shaw Lake. He picked up a rod with a spinnerbait that he wasn't planning  to use today. It enticed a bite from a four-pounder that came unhooked right at the boat. That's when Tucker realized he'd left a hook cover on the spinnerbait from Wednesday's practice, when he wasn't trying to land a fish.

"Then I lost a three-pounder as I was lifting it in the boat," Tucker said. "It hasn't been a good day. I've got two fish and I should have five."

I see Denny is now on with 2 fish for 6lbs.  A good average size if he can get a limit.

HMMM Mercer is up on the Classic stage doing stuff and Hook'd Up is on with Skeet.

Huh, they have KJ with Zona and Sanders doing a Hook'd Up on the weigh in stage.

Singing National Anthem

The Weigh In Bits and Pieces:
Hack is u[ 1st.  13-15 Says he'll make his long run all week.

Mark Tucker Fantasy Bass Fail

Browning couldn't find any quality fish.

Jamie Horton gets 14-15 he is going to fish the Elites this year as Federation Champ

Martens thanks the soldiers 13lbs which is way past the 4lb he supposedly had.

Chris Lane had 16lbs will run all new water tomorrow

Wow it' John Crews 6th Classic 11-15 Crews will stay in the same spot he shared with Lane today

Marty Robinson does a dance

Scroggins comes in 2lbs heavier than Basstrakk, says he lost a couple of good fish.

Brandon Palanuik skunks

Kriet and Van Dam were fishing next to each other and KVD had a swirl right in front of Kriet.  Kriet did throw back.  Van Dam didn't catch it.

Matt Reed caught a big dogfish first thing

Fed angler Tom Jessop came in 5lbs below Basstrakk

The Rooster Greg Vinson catches 17lbs and takes the lead has area all to himself

Walker has 16-8lbs so he's a pound heavier than Basstrakk.  He's in 3rd.

Ike has 10-7 that's 2lb more than Basstrakk.  He hocks his new sport drink Ike'd Up

KVD caught 11 even but feels good about it

Hey camera man if your gonna show highlights, show them we don't wanna look at Zona and Sanders.  It was ridiculous!

Hite came in about 1/2 lb light but he's in the hunt with

Ish is making a run to Pool 3 tomorrow.   Not what Hack wants to hear.

Tak comes up with a pound plus over his Basstrakk

Ott with 16-6 and into 4th.  That's 2lbs plus above Basstrakk

Kennedy gets 3lbs up on his Basstrakk number

Grigsby ran all the way to Pool 3, just ran out of time

Keith Poche pulls out a tank 17-13 so he's in the lead big fish is 6-13

Bobby Lane 16-4 ties him up with Chris, throws in Havoc plug

Andy Upshaw comes in two pounds above Basstrakk with 12-8

Josh Polfer 4lbs less than Basstrak, ouch

Brent Chapman thinks he's got a shot in his area

Faircloth is in the area with Poche but got less than 10lbs

Swindle layers it on pretty good about how he's gonna get them tomorrow.

Sounds like Keith Combs ran down to Pool 3 as well.

Evers comes in with 16-3 out of nowhere, almost 10lbs above his Basstrakk

And Weigh In is over interviewing Poche

Has a bait no one else is throwing, has the area to himself other than Faircloth

Apparently they are not doing the post press conference with the Top 5 or 6

BassEast.com has some pretty good post weigh in interviews

Big Indiana Bass  has the rundown on Basstrakk accuracy

Rookie Keith Combs into the Top 10 with 14-9. Has a big one found for tomorrow.

Keith Poche with 15-4, which is a big comeback, probably in the cut.

Brent Chapman with 6-14, kerplunk "the area has muddied up" moved to another area late and he said he wished he would have moved sooner.

Rick Clunn with 7-6 so he won't make cut. "Usually I come to Florida just hoping to survive."

Grigsby with 11-7, so he is on the bubble with 19-13. Missed two big fish today

Bassmaster Classic Final Day Weigh In (Liveblogging)

(Posting most recent info on top)

And press conference ends.

"I don't compete to break records...I compete to win"

KVD talks about 1st Classic win, not scouting this year, ruling out Venice, talks about hard bottom in that spot and it was a protected area. Checked it twice in practice and never got a bite until last practice day. "I made some adjustments a little quicker than some of the other guys did."

"The first day I caught em on a spinnerbait" but I saw them beginning to change even then. At first they killed it and then they started bumping it. "By the end of the first day the spinnerbait bite was really dwindling" On 2nd day switched to the Strike King 1.5 square bill Chart/black back. "I'd drop my Power Pole and fan cast"
"I fished real methodically" Threw on 5:3.1 reel. "I had to reel the bait reel slow" "I caught a pile of em' today and I threw back multiple 20lb bags." "I knew I had figured out what I needed to do today."

"The guys that are really good are very perceptive"

Talks about his new Biosonix, but it's a different company.

I missed the first few guys do to power outage.

Yes he got a smattering of applause.

I wonder if the press will give him an ovation?

Now to press conference.

And it's over with a video

"I looked at the habitat an thought it had potential...so much of that bottom is just mud...today it was lights out...I had 24lbs at 10o'clock."

Time for Hook'd Up

The boat comes out for victory lap with Sherry and the kids and he goes on victory lap.

"The last few years have been really magical for me...it's a team effort" thanks family.

"KVD slams the door on number 4, Rick Clunn is alone no more" Mercer

Clunn doesn't bring KVD the trophy, Trip does. Confetti shower.

Mercer goes from litany of KVD accomplishments.

Kevin Van Dam- Brings fish out one at a time. Looks like he's got 20+. Needs 17-6 scale reads 28-0. WOW that is 69-11 HE WINS BY 10lbs!!!

A-Mart- needs 23-7. Pulls out two kickers. 25-14 that is almost 5 less than Basstrakk. I wonder if they were rigging the basstrack today. I guess he just broke the weight record. "This has the potential to be the best fishery in the world... I want to thank the B.A.S.S. staff" Does a tribute to KVD. "It's exciting I'm leading it again" He has 59-0, so KVD needs 17-6.

Brent Chapman- Needs 18-8 gets 16-7 into 3rd. I am disappointed for Brent. "Today I just didn't catch the fish, any big one's...my water dropped 10 degrees" Mercer gives him the chance to talk about Tighlines UV,

Boyd Duckett up 3rd- Pulls out two hogs. 28-13 and into 3rd with 53-2. Big Bass is 8-15 which beats Remitz fish. "I got on these fish to late... I need one more day" Boyd says he had a back up boat, must be nice.

Palaniuk comes up 2nd- Brings out 2 kickers. 22-15 which puts him in 2nd with 55-7, Derek has 56-8, which I think breaks the Classic weight record. "I had an up and down day" Blows a fish whistle in Brian Kercherals(sp) honor, gets a standing O.

Derek Remitz up 1st- Pulls out the log donkey. 26-5 and into the lead. Kicker is 8-4. Earlier it was said to be a 10. "We all pretty much put the hurting on em' today...I couldn't even get the crankbait out of it's mouth I was shaking so bad...the only thing that hurt me was that first day."

KVD gets loudest cheers. Playing Who Dat Gonna Beat Dem Saints? The trophy is on the podium as well as the hot seat. Rook goes on Hot Seat.

Out with the lights...Having anglers come in from crowd Remitz 1st, Chapman 2nd, Palaniuk 3rd, Martens 4th, Duckett 5th, KVD last naturally.

Super 6 Hoopla starts with a video.

My streaming is starting to suck.

Time for Hook'd Up- Zona does a riff on what Louisiana has been through.

Scott Rook- Does not make the Super 6.

The Super 6 will be KVD, Martens, Remitz, Duckett, Palaniuk, Chapman.

Gary Klein- "Decisions and commitments and a lot of what if's" Yes he pumps Berkley Havoc.

Faircloth 18-3 takes the lead. 47-3total. "I got to fish longer today than the 1st two days combined...I don't think I could have competed with the guys that fished up here."

Skeet- He has special Skeet Under Armor shoes, they had a good shot of them. Yep Skeet mentions his Havoc bait the "Pit Boss". Skeet goes on a riff about how he loves the bite and "cracks their heads" Mercer also pimped Havoc baits.

Bobby Lane- Holds up a kicker. 18-2 takes over 1st. "I put my brand new Havoc Craw Patty(sp) on." Wonder if Klein mentions Havoc too?

Kevin Wirth- Thanks his family eloquently.

Cliff Pace- Only moves up to 2nd. Big tournament favorite has a disappointment. "The weather is what got me... I've traveled 750 miles by boat."

Federation Angler Dale Hightower- I think his bag was suppose to be bigger. "This has been a dream come true...I've been in the Federation for 4 years." I wonder if he fished tournaments before joining the Federation.

Paul Elias is on my fantasy team. Only 2 fish for 3-00. Not good!

Ohh oh, feed cut again. Got it back quick again.

Note- I am not blogging everyone.

Ohh oh, feed got cut. Got it back quick.

Ike- He is suppose to have a big bag.
18-9 into 1st but his bag on BassTrakk was suppose to be 20.
"All my fish were caught on a Havoc Bait" so how much was Berkley gonna pay these guys if they won on Havoc?

Dean Rojas- Pulls out a nice kicker. 18-5 Finally someone captures 1st Place today. "That big one came on the frog today...the whole limit was caught on Kermit"

Shaw Grigsby- "I ask that everyone out there take someone out fishing" Put in quite the plug for his sponsors.

Keith Combs- Holds up a kicker. Wow the live leaderboard is way ahead of the live stream. He caught 15 something.

Greg Vinson- Tells a story about the Lowrance radar helping him avoid a collision.

1st to weigh. Jeff Kriet He comes in holding a kicker. 15-15, not even enough to get into 1st or 2nd. "I took a nap and ate sandwich today" On the extended fishing time.

Berkley Havoc Cast for Cash ($100,000) Missed bad for the $100,000. Missed again for $25,000. They gave him $5000. It didn't look like he knew what he was doing with a baitcaster. He was casting backhanded.

Hmmm when the pre-game Hook'd Up was on it wasn't streaming well, but now that they have gone to Mercer, things are fine.

Well Basstrakk has this as a dead heat between A-Mart and KVD. Should be Good!!!

Bassmaster Classic Day 3 Press Conference Top 5 Liveblogged

5 less bass then yesterday with the shorter time.

"If we have to cancel a day we are fishing Monday" Bombshell!!!

Trip Weldon is up.

KVD "It's not like you catch 3 in a row, it's not that kind of deal."

Chapman "If I could take my time and fish everything, I expect better things will happen"

KVD "There was nobody out there fishing with us today" (liar see below)

KVD "I've never seen fans better in the Classic"

KVD "There is always patterns within patterns and little things to tip you off."

KVD "I tried the Federation, it was way to hard, so I joined the Pro Tour"

Palaniuk "Federation has the ability to build a good angler"

Chapman encourages spectators to go watch the other boys.

Oops battery on laptop went out, had to get it plugged in.

KVD "You can catch a 30lb bag there pretty easy. I never got a big bite there yesterday and today I got two...It was a grind"

KVD "Trip says he's going to cancel"

Press Conference starting.

Chapman saying fish were biting better when it was cold- off-mike.

Martens and Palaniuk talking about other non-tourny boats catching fish off-mike.

Bassmaster Classic Day 3 Weigh In Liveblogging

Top 6
KVD
Chapman
Martens
Brandon Palaniuk
Rook
Remitz

That's 5 guys in the same area.

Hook'd Up with Zona Sanders and KVD- Someone shouts "Cookie Monster"
"Everybody has to pick an area and gamble on it"
Says the wind will blow tomorrow and he wants it calm.

3lb 10oz lead going into day 3.

"It was pretty awesome at the end of the day"

Shows 2 kickers!!! 22-8 WOW!!! This is why he IS THE BEST! 41-11
KVD last to weigh in!

Tharp- "I didn't account for as many boats as there were in my area today."

Ike- moves into 16th will make the cut. Says he is in right area but can't get the big fish then pimps his Berkley Havoc baits. Is that wise?

Evers- Stayed close only got 3 for 6-7.

Biffle- Only has 4. 12-13. Sure could have used one 6lber. Will make the cut.

Bobby Lane- 10-11 puts him in 9th for now. Will need huge bag tomorrow.

Swindle has firefighter Kevin who has cancer. Swindle is choked up and can't talk. Swindle thanks McKinnis and Trip "this means more than winning the tournament"

Kelly Jordan- Came in a minute late. Had 11 bites in 17 minutes at the end of his day.

Tracy Adams- Skunk! "I made some bad decisions" I guess.

Big Show Terry Scroggins- Had 35 bites???

Faircloth- Makes the cut.

John Crews Missle- 11 something. I thought Basstrakk had him with 20. Yep Mercer confirms that.

Rojas- Has a kicker. "Fog shmog nothin is stoppin' me from catching the hawg"Mercer 20-3 moves to 12th. Only running 20 minutes.

Paul Elias- On my fantasy team. 11-6 at least he's in the cut. Thankful everyone has been able to make the runs and get back.

Mike McClelland- 9 keepers in 37 minutes. Took out a lower unit and got stuck, amazing he got anything.

Fed Angler Dale Hightower- 11-5. Makes the cut but he's out of it. Lost a key fish. Sounds like he is running. Said he regretted it.

Skeet- 13-10. Will make the cut, but an extreme longshot at this point. Caught 35 fish. Pimps radar

Goes to Hook'd Up- They have video of anglers fishing Chapman and Pace.

A-Mart- 12-11. Another huge disappointment. 5lbs beneath Chapman. Had 20 bites. Thinks he should have fished to a treble hook bait.

Scott Rook- 12-5. That has to be a huge disappointment. Caught more fish than yesterday, just couldn't get the big fish.

Derek Remitz- Doesn't show a kicker. Huh! 17-4. Show's off two big fish. Doesn't want fog as he got his big one's early.

Morizo Shimizu- Has a really cool wrap on his boat. Mercer has Morizo speak in Japanese and lip sync's it like a foreign movie.

Cliff Pace- On my fantasy team. Doesn't show a kicker. 11-10. He will make the cut most likely, but he's done. Got to fish for 52 minutes.

Fed Champ Brandon Palaniuk with 17-14. He is sharing the water with KVD, Rook, Martens, and Remitz.

Clark Rheem- Came in late trying to catch a big fish that he could see.

Hack- On my fantasy team unfortunately. Has 10 something, won't make the cut.

Shaw Grigsby- He'll make the cut. "I made a big mistake" tells story about how his boat got him in so fast he had another 5 minutes to fish. Mercer mocks him.

Boyd Duckett- "I fished were some big fish lived, but I didn't know how to catch em'"

Russ Lane- "Russ Lane bringin' the pain" Mercer His kicker was 7-12.

Wolak said he only had 45 minutes to fish, was fishing right by Cliff Pace.

Terry Butcher- He's on my fantasy team. Just 9-8, don't know if he gets the cut. He used radar. Mercer suggests he sell the radar to Chapman, Nice!

Brent Chapman- Pulls out a nice fish. Fished for hour and 10 minutes. 20-1 he beat the Basstrakk. "I love it when my scales wrong" Klein with radar allowed Chapman to follow him.

Gary Klein- He holds up a nice fish. 17-0 Plugs Lowrance radar. Fished for 42 minutes.

1st to weigh Mark Davis "fishing was phenomenal today" he caught 13+, left em biting.

Guido "This lake is a great lake, it's a little off right now" 10-11

Chad Morganthaler Got 5 but didn't catch a lot 8-9.

Vikings vs. Da Bears Liveblogging

Why Not?

Pre-game:
As always I hope the game starts with our opposition getting the ball. I think it is better to get the ball to start the 2nd half.

Hopefully Percy shows up big tonight along with AP. I am sure Chestor will be his usual reliable self.

Kickoff:
Ok I've got the computer back.

Not a good start. What is that with Pat Williams out, not good.

That drive ending in a fumble was bad ju ju.

Bears field goal 6-0.

A touchdown solves this problem real quick. How about Percy Harvin for 94?

End of 1st Quarter: Defence squandered opportunity for a turnover and the offence and Special teams making mistakes. Yuck!

Nice Kick Kluwe, this is some ugly football the Vikes are showing. I don't so much have a problem with the run on 3rd down that didn't work, but we should have them pinned way deeper than this.

Bears in field goal range again. Leber missed his 2nd chance for a pick.

Officially this is BAD. Bears 13-0

3 and Out plenty thanks to the refs. Just what we need another factor against us.

3 and out for Bears

No urgency for the Vikes. Two minute warning. The Vikes really need to convert this 3rd Down.

Once again poor pass blocking and that play was doomed from the start. Bears get the ball back with enough time to drive for yet another score.

Bears fieldgoal.

16-0 Halftime.

Well it's clear the Vikings original game plan to dominate the game by dominating the run game is shot to pieces. Bears with a huge advantage at this point. We are well on our way to three straight prime time embarrassments.

What is wrong with this team? Answer: Right now, just about everything.

Honestly, I don't know that we have any shot at winning the game at this point. No Pat Williams is just a killer with EJ Henderson gone and it is pretty clear to me that the Vikes expected to win this game with Adrian Peterson leading the way and that plan is probably out. Yuck!

Once again you can't pin down what is wrong to one thing, Peterson slips, Favre poor throw Peterson drops, Favre good throw, Berrien drops it. Punt.

Defence holds, Renaunt doesn't catch the ball (Come ON!) and we get lucky that Bear picks it up early or that might have gone 10 or more yards.

We need 7!!!

Oops 6, this isn't our game. (But it's still two scores to tie, so it isn't that big a deal)

OK it can't stop here. How about one of those patented Cutler meltdowns. (a boy can hope)

How did the refs miss that full extension block in the back at the point of the run, unbelievable!!!

That pass interference was crap, the replay clearly showed no holding going on.

Well, TSBR (Totally screwed by Refs) certainly applies on that drive for a Bears TD.

I'm done liveblogging until the end of the game!

Bottom Line- We lost the game. I don't feel that the Vikes in the end were really outplayed or even should have lost, but it is what it is thanks to Viking miscues and some poor Ref play.

One Last Note: The play of Antonie Winfield the past two weeks. Ouch! And where was Jared Allen, that boy has to step it up too.

Favre was clutch but a little bit lucky too, kind of like Cutler.

Live Blogging Vikes vs. Bengals

No Percy- Not Good

Winfield back- Personally would rather have Percy, if I had the choice.

Shencoe drops ball.

Favre throws pick- Ugh

Winfield is IN THE GAME!

Come on, lets get AP crankin'

Come on, catch the ball Berrein (Man was that lucky)

Farve you just should have run, stupid penalty.

End of quarter- I miss Percy.

The pass protection on that 3rd down, sucked! Sack!

It's good! I miss Percy and I think Brett does too.

Winfield- DOH!!

Nice return and thanks for the 15!

AP turns on the jets!

So close Sidney!!!

Favre eludes rush, touchdown!!! HUGE!

Lets Go D!

Not good, swiss cheese Defence 10-7.

Favre with sneak, that was big.

I guess 3 is better than nothing, especially when we get the ball to start the 2nd half.

Ha! Beautiful- It's just too bad Greenway didn't scoop that baby up and run it to the house.

And it's a 9 point lead. HUGE!

Halftime over was eating wings.

Huge touchdown by AP.

To bad that was no fumble.

Home field advantage, STUFF.

Lets put this thing away

3 and out, that sucked!

Long run but not a disaster, Come on field goal or turnover!

Another brutal penalty call, come on refs, this is football. What is he supposed to do, not hit him at all?

Fieldgoal, I will take that.

Come on O about 8 minutes off the clock or how about a Reanaut TD return?

3 and out, Brutal. Brett you have to make that throw, Chester had the 1st down easy.

How about some home field advantage?

Yeah baby, 3 and Out!

It's time to put this thing away ALL DAY!

That drive was a thing of beauty!!! Execution leads to execution.

It's nice of the Bengals to concede the game like that. Home field advantage!!!

FYI my fantasy team is smashmouth this week.

Come on Bears, upset those crackers! Oops that game is OVER.

Victory is Achieved!!! Just give us the NFC North Division crown, now.

Should I Twins live blog, why NOT!

It's 4 to 4 in the bottom of the 9th in the Twins vs Tigers one game playoff for the Central Division Championship. My brother Todd, Sister-In-Law Kirsten, and neices Isabelle and Mallory are at the game and boy has it been a good one. Both teams have blown great opportunities to score.

Bottom of the Ninth: Punto walks then is bunted to 2nd. Tigers 3rd basemen makes a play and gets 2nd Out. Mauer will be walked, putting up Gomez??? Yeah that's who you want batting-NOT. He grounds out and the inning is over.

Twins Ace reliever Joe Nathan who was brought in to pitch in the 8th inning after the Tigers already tied the score is now done, won't pitch in the 10th. Jesse Crain to pitch.

Top of 10th:

Tigers score on double by Inge
3rd Out

Bottom of 10th:

Casilla at 3rd
Punto at bat.
Play at the plate, Out #3 but I'm not sure where the 2nd out came from. Ahh Punto flied out to left field and left fielder Raburn nailed Casilla

Top of 11th:
Crain starts inning with Strike Out
Now Gardy in his infinite wisdom is replacing Crain with Mahay
Mayhey gets strike out and now in his infinite wisdom Gardy is replacing Mahay with Keppel.
Line drive Out.

Bottom of 11th:
Twins have top of the order up.
Span out on a good play by outfielder Granderson.
Cabrera struck out
Mauer grounds out to 2nd
Quick 1-2-3 inning.

Top of 12th:
Keppel will pitch

Tigers best batter Cabrera up- 3and2 Walk (Keppel was ahead in the count and let it get away)

Elite Series Kentucky Lake Day Final Liveblogging the Leaderboard

With a 10lb lead going into today it is pretty much a foregone conclusion that Bobby Lane is going to win the tournament. However whether Bobby will beat 100lbs and who finishes ahead of who with KVD and Skeet are matters of some interest. I really have nothing else to do, so I am going to liveblog the results as they come in on the leaderboard.

So far
Roumbanis 13-5
Kriet 15-10
Swindle 19-4
KJ 20-15
Steve Kennedy 23-14 (He would have been on my fantasy squad had I changed my line up)
Rick Morris 22-11

Waiting on Britt Myers...
Looks like the live leaderboard is stuck cause it's taking longer than it should.

It's almost 5PM Central and I assume the weigh in is now over, but things are still stuck on Britt Myers. ESPN does a bang up job once again!

Elite Series Guntersville Day Final Liveblogged

The Hunt for the Century Club:
Kevin Wirth weighs 29-3 and I believe breaks the 100lb barrier. Yes he does 102-3!!!

Menendez weighs 20-14 and comes up a little short of the century mark, which he really wanted to hit.

Byron weighs 18-1 and comes up short of 100.

Martens stumbles with 19-15, but that is more than enough with 107-8 and Martens wins!!!

Fralick only catches 17-7 and is well short of 100.

Ouch, Alton only weighs 12-11, doesn't break 90.

Reed and Faircloth have also come up short at this point.

Skeet sacks 27-11 for a total of 104-4 and he takes the lead.

McClelland weighs 17-00 and comes up short at 94-4. Hardly a surprise as Mike has been running out of steam.

IKE just makes it with 101-1. He had 20-15 for the day.

Stone weighs 18-8 and comes up short at 99-5.

Will Martens choke and Skeet walk through the door? He only needs 16-12.

Man are they dragging this out! Weigh the fish already!

Martens stumbles with 19-15, but his 107-8 takes it, Martens Wins!!!

Elite Series Guntersville Day 2 Liveblogged

Bass Trak is working for KVD, Faircloth, Short, Pace, and Herren...
I think it is probably a given that Faircloth does indeed have a drop in weight for the day but KVD could easily have more than Bass Trakk is letting on.

Weigh in started:
For some reason Mark Tucker who was last to weigh in yesterday was not the 1st to weigh in today. I was a bit worried but I now see his name in the queue, so it's all good. With 10 weighed it looks like the fishing was excellent again today with 5 of the bags being 25lbs plus.

KVD only weighs 23-7, not good! Meanwhile Evers sacked 26-5, the schmuck!

IKE sacks 27-5 for the 2nd straight day and takes the lead. How impossible is it to catch two 27-5 bags in a row. The odds on that have to be mind blowing.

Ahhh the dogs went nuts and we had a doggy visitor from next store. As I was bringing the little guy home I stepped in a big pile of dog crap. NICE! At least I didn't collect any ticks.

Boyd Duckett takes a tumble ONLY 17-12 will 43-15 be enough to make the cut? I think it will.

Mark Tucker on weighs 17-8. This fantasy pick is a bust! FYI- It was Hellabass that tipped me off on this one. He is going down with the ship too.

Egads, just picked a little tick off me, pretty good chance it was a Deer Tick. After a much more thourough inspection I didn't find any more. The little bugger must have jumped me from a tree.

Tim Horton 15-13 Ouch, my fantasy team is taking it on the chin.

Skeet weighs a respectable 24-14 and will be my top guy, both he and KVD will have a shot at the 12 cut with good bags tomorrow. I have 3 guys outside the 50 cut, that is a disaster!

Martens Sacks 29+ again and takes the lead by an ounce short of a pound and a half.

Here is my pathetic Fantasy Line Up after Day 2
Skeet 14th
KVD 18th
Horton 58th
M. Tucker 69th
Herren 84th

Here is where the 12 cut sits:
1 Aaron Martens 5 29- 2 5 29-12 10 58-14
2 Mike McClelland 5 30-10 5 26-13 10 57- 7
3 Todd Faircloth 5 31- 0 5 24-15 10 55-15
4 Byron Velvick 5 29- 4 5 25-14 10 55- 2
5 Michael Iaconelli 5 27- 5 5 27- 5 10 54-10
6 Rick Clunn 5 25-14 5 26- 0 10 51-14
7 Alton Jones 5 28-12 5 22-15 10 51-11
8 Kevin Wirth 5 24- 6 5 27- 4 10 51-10
9 Jami Fralick 5 26-11 5 24-11 10 51- 6
10 Mark Menendez 5 24- 7 5 26-12 10 51- 3
11 Edwin Evers 5 24-12 5 26- 5 10 51- 1
12 Marty Stone 5 26-15 5 23-13 10 50-12

Looks like I made a huge mistake with Evers. I will keep Horton for Kentucky Lake however.

Elite Series Guntersville Day 1 Liveblogged

I did put a fantasy team together last night. I decided to drop Edwin Evers because he just is not having that good of a season. I also dropped John Murray who was kind of a throw away pick from Smith Mountain.

My Fantasy Line UP:
KVD
SKEET
Tim Horton
Mark Tucker
Matt Herren

I have had Herren since the beginning and he is turning out to be the bargin pick of the year. I think he nows goes for $2 over what I have him locked in as.

Once again Bass Trak does not appear to be working...

On Bass Cast they have KVD and Skeet. I think I'll have to watch.

Wow 3 bags weighed, all over 25lbs!!!

Yes Skeet with a 25lb string.

Faircloth in the lead with 31lbs
McClellend Jacks 30-10
Byron in 3rd with 29-4
Martens in 4th with 29-2
Ken Cook with 29-2

Uh-Oh Herren with only 14lbs. That is going to be a lot of ground to make up for the 50 cut. With 64 anglers weighed there are 39, 20lb+ strings.

Horton puts in a respectable 24-1 but Edwin Evers who I dropped laid down 24-12, it's Day 1, this means Jack Squat!

KVD 25-9 which should have him in the Top 20.

Looks like Mark Tucker weighs last.

Pre-tournament favorite Ike weighs 27-5 which will have him in the Top 10.

Just noticed Skeet and KVD have the same weight.

Tucker weighs a mediocre 20-6 which puts him in 57th

So here is my Day 1 Fantasy Team Results
KVD 15th
Skeet 15rh
Horton 23rd
Tucker 57th
Herren 94th

Not exactly a great start.

Here is the Day 1 Top 12
1 Todd Faircloth 5 31- 0 5 31- 0
2 Mike McClelland 5 30-10 5 30-10
3 Byron Velvick 5 29- 4 5 29- 4
4 Ken D Cook 5 29- 2 5 29- 2
4 Aaron Martens 5 29- 2 5 29- 2
6 Alton Jones 5 28-12 5 28-12
7 Michael Iaconelli 5 27- 5 5 27- 5
8 Marty Stone 5 26-15 5 26-15
9 Mark Davis 5 26-14 5 26-14
10 Jami Fralick 5 26-11 5 26-11
11 Boyd Duckett 5 26- 3 5 26- 3
12 Rick Clunn 5 25-14 5 25-14

I contemplated going with Davis and Martens.

Elite Dardanelle BassZone Wide Open- Live blogged

I don't know how much blogging will get done, because I am eating dinner right now too.

They have tournament winner Mark Menendez. Didn't fish clean today was a little concerned his weight today wouldn't be good enough. The aluminum boat was the big difference maker for him. Is confident about Wheeler, thinks he has something that is going to work. The volume on Menedez's mike isn't loud so I can hardly hear what he is saying. Said he used Internet satillite photo's to find his key area. Said a local came into his area, but when he realised Menedez was there the guy didn't fish and just watched. Menendez

Talking KVD, he struggled in the morning moved and ended up with the best bag of the day. Had some boat problems, needed back up boat. The sunlight today helped him out and he got dialed in. Caught 2 big fish while he was waiting for back up boat.

The BassZone guys are happy that they didn't have to talk about "Sexy Shad" this week.lol

Go to commercial break before final segment.

Talking Chris Lane also made a move today to stay on the fish.
Cliff Pace who dropped big time just didn't have any other area's.
They say Roumbanis "Boom Boom" fishes fast like KVD
Not sure if KVD or Alton will be in the lead of AOY points.
Someone commented that KVD is on top, had the points calculated.

Into end of the show silly season.

Will be there Wide Open next week at Wheeler.

Legend predicts a mix of cranks and plastics for Wheeler.

Saying Thank You's and goodbye.

Elite Series Dardanelle Day 2 BassZone.com Wide Open liveblogged.

Matt Herren 4th place is the guest, big thunderstorms are on there way

Says Harold told him they were going to play golf. Fish were a little different today than the 1st day. Herren won an FLW Series Tournament on Dardanelle, I did not know that. Fish are in all 3 phases of the spawn, yesterday caught spawn fish, today he caught post-spawn. Thinks he will be able to adjust to what the fish will do with the storms. Not in a crowd, only getting 6-7 keeper bites a day. Backed off the fish today and spent a couple hours practicing. The tournament he won he was fishing a pattern until the last day when flood forced him to stay in one area. Doesn't think there will be a drastic change in surface temp. Thinks if the water gets muddied up that will mess the fish up. Says in the Elites practice is so short that it's hard to tell what kind of fish he is on. When he practices he tries to fish to his strengths, doesn't think there is time to get to fancy. Has not been thinking about points, "I am thinking about the money, I need some Ben Franklin's." Thinks he will be ok in the Alabama swing (Herren is from Ala). Not a light line fishermen. Enjoys having observers watching him fish. Water has risen and with more rain tonight thinks his area will be helped as far as fish coming in but is concerned about his area getting muddied up.

Cliff Pace in 2nd Place is On

Has caught all fish on the same bait. Has found that he has to pretty much fish one stretch. It is hard to find un-used water. Thinks a lot of fish have just spawned and that he is catching post-spawn fish that are looking to eat. He is fishing for 5 bites in the 8 hours. He is not worried about KVD and the other anglers on his trail. Practices with lots of rods on the deck and tries to find what the fish want rather than going into practice with a specific idea. "All patterns in the Spring are dying" you need to cover water and find good area's. Says his better days are his longer days. He stayed and guarded his area until 2pm, but when he left someone moved in. Says the water is raising in his area and it is helping the bite and thinks rising will help, but there isn' a wild fluctation.

Coming Intern Chip who was KVD's marshal today...

Says KVD talked with him all day long. Will be with Kelly Jordan tomorrow. Kelly and KVD were in the same area today. Thinks $100 for 2 or 3 days is a great deal for the Marshals. He thinks when he was a co-angler he was in it to learn and so he doesn't think he is missing much by not fishing. Says the weather for tomorrow could be brutal with wind and cold. Thinks he is learning about the need to adapt.

Live feed goes out for the second time, first time I didn't realise it right away because they went on break.

Marshals can't aid the pro in anyway. Says he would ask question about what the pro was thinking every time they made a change. KVD says the changes he makes are mostly dictated by his experience.

And that is all she wrote
