4-0, Vikes Win At Lambert

The refs made this game closer than it was by not overturning the Darnold INT call. KOC needs to run more often. Addison is so fricken good, as is Jets and AJ. Who is going to beat this team? The Jags, SeaChickens, or Lions at home, maybe. I don't see this squad losing at home. This team is elite and the front-runner for the #1 Spot in the NFC.

Historical note: I was under the impression the impression that Hock would be back for the Lions game at home after the buy. Cashman got injured in London just before the bye. The Lions lost at home to Tampa Bay in Week 2. So, the Vikes led the Division at this point. I will always maintain that had Cashman and Hock been able to go, the Vikings wouldn't have lost that game at home to the Lions. Also, the Rams were not on my radar at this point. They only had one win vs. the 49er squad that got beat up by the Vikes in a heavyweight fight the previous week. I think both Kupp and Puka were out with injuries by this point. Unfortunately, they both returned for the Vikings game on Thursday Night after we had just lost to the Lions home in a slugfest. The Vikes didn't have Hock or Cashman for the game in LA, either. The LA game will be memorable for the dropped pass by Speedy Nailor at a key juncture and the uncalled facemask of Uncle Sam that resulted in Safety ruining any chance of Super Sam saving the day. Everything was working against the Vikes in LA. It was a very hard-luck loss

3-0 Vikes Dominate Texans, On to Packers Week

Vikes with a great team win. Next week we roll into Lambert to face the Cheese. Will Love be back in the drivers seat? Or will the Pack keep going with Willis? It should be a good game. Turnovers will be key.

Liveblogging: The Love Led Packers Vs. LA Lighting Bolts at Lambert

Seeing as how A-a-a Ron is gone, and the Packers are now riding on the Suck Truck for who knows how long, I think live blogging their games could provide me with mucho entertainment to pass the time this Sunday and any other time they are on TV here in Minnesocold.

Here is what happened so far:
Cheese started with the ball and a penalty, Noice!
They drove to mid-field where they were stoned on 4th and 1.
Sackmaster Bosa went off with what looks to be a serious lower leg injury on the 3rd Down play, I think.
On 4th Down a wide open Charger receiver couldn't catch an easy one in the cold and the Pack got the ball back at mid field. Shortly after they punted.
Chargers drove down the field and once again a Charger dropped easy one that cost them a 1st Down and probably a TD as well. Chargers kicked a field goal.
Packers got the ball and ran it down the Chargers throat for an easy TD. Pack 7 Bolts 3
Charger then went through Pack D like a sledgehammer through Miracle Whip. Bolts 10 Pack 7
Love got sacked, but the Pack were not deterred and are now driving.
Drive stalled due to a bobbled snap and Love sack, forcing a 50+ yard field goal attempt, that was missed. So Sad, Pack Bolts 10 Pack 7, with Bolts ball near midfield.
Bolts did nothing and punted.
Pack 1st Down
3rd and Long coming up
False start 3rd and Longer
Pack 1st Down, nice downfield throw by Love.
Aaron Jones injured on 1st Down play, isn't he their main horse?
Da Bears 10 Da Lions 7 Lions threatening to score
Pack 1st Down at the 2-Minute warning.
Detriot is now up 14 to 10. The game is in Detroit.
Will Love pull a Ponder and throw a pick?
Packers moving
Packers in the red zone, 1st Down
Pack player Wilson is injured, he's a RB. Costs GB a timeout.
2&9 on about the 11-yard line. GB timeout.
Love does a bonehead and doesn't throw it away costing them a timeout
Pack kick a fieldgoal
10 to 10 at half.
Incredible that it is only 10 to 10. It looked like this one was going to be a shootout.
They have kicked off and bolts are driving, almost at midfield
Bolts on the Pack side of the field.
Bolts 3rd and about 7
10 scrambles to the 5 yard line
Bolts going backward tackled at the 8
WR Allen drops a TD
Bolts 13 Pack 10
Pack lose 5 on 1st down
3rd and 10
1st Down, nice throw and catch
It will be 3rd and short
Short pitch and catch, 1st Down. Injured Bolt Joesph Day DT
Bears scored a fieldgoal and are down 13 to Lions 14
Love throws for a 1st Down
Pack ahead of the chains
And they go backward
3rd and 6 after a loss of 4 yards
Mack Sacks Love on the Packers side of the 50, nothing Love could do but eat dirt.
Bolts ball at the 10 yard line
Bears score a TD now up 20 to 14
The Lions fans who think beating the Bears is as easy as Rodgers made it look could be in for a rude awakening.
Bolts punt and Packers muff the ball out of bounds, Packer ball around the 35 or so.
Pack big gain on 1st Down
Packer big play, but he did step out of bounds, no TD
TD Pack, throw to Watson.
Pack 16 Bolts 13, Pack missed the EP
Bears kicked field goal Bears 23 Lions in trouble down by two scores with 14
3rd Quarter is over at Lambert
Long completion for the Bolts
Bolts going through 'em like Miracle Whip again
Bolts 1st and goal from the 2.
incomplete pass
fumble
Pack ball, it was a fumble
Lions punted again,
Love with a 105.4 rating right now.
An incomplete pass on what should have been a big play
Dropped pass, 3rd and 10
Intentional grounding, Pack to punt
Bolt ball at their 37, Campbell injured for the Pack
Herbert threaded the needle first down
Pack almost made an incredible INT, Offensive PI
Doesn't phase 'em 1st Down Bolts
Delay of Game, Center didn't snap the ball
10 runs for a 1st Down
Bolts in Red Zone go nowhere on 1st Down
Holy Cow what a throw, TD Bolts
Bolts 20 Pack 16
Herbert is a stud!
Pack stopped on 1st down
Fumble GB recovery in the backfield, Lucky suckers
PI Bolts on 3rd and 20, stupid play
Heck of a play on 2nd Down for a long gain
Bolts tacking form poor
Packer TD on a throw to a wide open reciever
Pack 23 Bolt 20
Bears are up by 6, Lions with the ball nearing the Red Zone
3rd and 10 Bolts
10 Sacked
Will they punt or go for it
Two-minute warning
Looks like the Lions pulled it out
3rd and 6 Packers, Pack will punt
Touchback
Fumble on 2nd Down
PI on the Cheese on 3rd and 8
Packers will Punt, no timeouts for the Bolts 1:35 left
Dropped pass that would have put the Bolts in FG range
Packers deflect pass, Pack win the game
The frozen tundra won this one for the Cheese
Cali boi's can't catch in November in the North Country in a game played outside.
Pack 23 Bolts 20
Somehow the Bears gave up a saftey on their final drive to try and tie the game and lost
31-26

The Packers got a gift win today. They were clearly outplayed and got the lucky bounces when the ball hit the ground and when Herbert hit open receivers.

Give that production assistant a beer!
Congrats the Pukes and Da Lions
I think the Lions are in for a battle on Thanksgiving when the Pack comes to town.
The Pack got embarrassed in Lambert.

Vikings Get Win #13 And The Pack Get Eliminated

Vikes beat Da Bears 29-13

Pack lose to the Lions 20-16
I did not expect the Vikes to be a 13-win team, but here we are. Do I think the Vikes have a shot at making the Super Bowl? Absolutely. They have a shot if the team can put three straight games together where the three phases of the game hit on all cylinders for 60 minutes. It all starts with Kirk being at his best. No bad Kirk, no disappearing Kirk. This is an opportunity for Kirk to write a new narrative for his career. If our O-Line can raise their game and create holes for Dalvin, this team will be dangerous. If the D can hold opponents to 20 points or less, that should give us a shot. I don't think we have seen this team's best effort yet. Good Luck, Boys! SKOL!

Into The Freezer, For Posterity (Packer Football)

From a thread over at IDO titled: Packers End of An Era. Just wondering if last year was the end of the era for the Packer's playoff runs; how long will it be until they get back, get another playoff victory, NFC Title Game, and Super Bowl appearance. The Vike's current streak is two seasons without making the playoffs and the same since their last playoff victory.  It has been 4 years since our last NFC Title Game and 46 years since the last Super Bowl appearance.

Sure, it's easy to laugh with the kid now in 2022. I want to see how the humor ages if A-Rog has hit his expiration date and that team goes into the crapper for an extended length of time.

Vikes Go To 7-1, and The Pack Lose to the Lions

After the referee blocked Cam Bynum away from an interception resulting in a Washington TD. I thought that Coach KOC's horseshoe had been stolen. The Vikings were clearly the superior team in the match-up yesterday, but Wahington was getting most of the breaks. Thankfully, KOC's streak of good fortune returned when they blocked our long snapper allowing us to almost run out the clock before kicking the field goal that won it for us. And it looks like there is a pretty good chance we will face Case Keenum and not Josh Allen next week.

Meanwhile, the Lions beat the Pack, and Da Bears went down vs. Miami.

On to Buffalo, SKOL!

Pack Lose More Ground On The Bye

The Pack are now below .500 for the season (3-4) and have the Bills in Buffalo coming off their bye week up next. If the Vikes beat the Cards this Sunday at noon, I think the Bills game becomes must win for the Pack, given their remaining schedule. If the Vikes win and the Pack sees it that way, give it their all and come up short. I think they will lose the next one in Detriot as well. The Pack isn't coming back from (3-6) to make the playoffs barring a total collapse of Team Purple, which is improbable if they can beat the Cards this week.  If the Vikes lose to the Cards, the Bills game, instead of being a pressure cooker, turns into house money for the Pack whether they win or lose. Given KOC's Team's performance in Game 1 this season, I will be stunned if the Vikes lose on Sunday, and I don't see Washington beating Team Purple either.

The Vikes can put the Pack Nation in a world of hurt this weekend. Go to it, boys!  SKOL!

Here is the Packs remaining schedule:

I Am Shocked the Pack Got GOATed @ Lambert

I figured the Pack had it made for a trip to the Super Bowl this year. The finally secured home-field advantage and Erin was playing at the top of his game. Well Tom Brady had a vote. Neither QB played particularly inspired football. Congrats to the Buc's and good luck, your going to need it.

Vikings Week 15 Outlook: Let The Chips Fall Where They May

There is a lot on the line this week in the NFC North.  Da Bears play the Cheese in Lambert at noon.  A Pack victory probably means they win the Division and Da Bears would be eliminated from the playoffs.  The Bears seem to have hit their stride and it is my belief that the Pack are pretenders this year.  I think we may see a Bears upset at Lambert.   May it be so.

A Pack loss opens the Door for the Vikes to win the Division provided they can get a victory against the Chargers in L.A. this week.  The Vikes should be able to beat the Chargers if the Vikes play reasonably well on both sides of the ball.  I think the Vikes will do that.

If the Pack do beat the Bears, that isn't the end of the world for the Vikes provided the Vikes don't have an end of the year collapse like they did last year.  The Vikes should make the playoffs and a Pack victory this week most likely means the Vikes will face the Pack in Lambert in the first round of the playoffs. So let the chips fall where they may I think the Vikes have a better team than the Packers.

My Opinion, Zim Is The Man For The Foreseeable Future

I swear some Vikings fans are out of their minds.  Sure the teams' play has been all over the place this year and the teams' performance at Foxboro was a disappointment, but calling for Zimmer's head, really. C'mon Man!  Zim is a very good head coach and a defensive wizard.  It's not Zim's fault Rhodes and Waynes were injured in the game.  The lack of offensive production versus the Pats is all on Flip, Cousins, and Belichick who is also a defensive wizard.  Winning in Foxboro in December is a tough draw.  I expected the Vikes to play a bit better, but I didn't think they played as badly as the final score and stats indicated.  We weren't very far off from giving the Pat's a scare.

I think Seattle is a much more beatable team.  I'm sure Zim wants some revenge against the Seachickens.  Cousin's gets another primetime opportunity to prove the critics wrong and the whole offensive unit has something to prove.

A final word on Zim.  His record versus the Packers the last 7 times we have played says it all:

The Window Closes A Bit More For A-Rog

It's official #12 has been shut down for the season after the Dirty Birds erased Green Bays playoff hopes.  So Rodgers has been leading the Green and Gold for 10 years now.  Packers 5 Division Titles, Vikings 4 Division Titles in that time.  I don't mean to harsh the cheeseheads mellow, but the Vikes have to be the favorites to win the Division again next year as well.  The Packers better get with the program.  Rodgers isn't getting any younger.

The outlook for this weeks game at Lambert:
  SKOL! Vikes!!!

Beat Green Bay And...

It has been a while since my last Vikings post.  I am pleased that we are playing for the Division Crown in the final regular season game of the 2015/16 season.  I think the Vikes are in a position where that very well might happen, now that our best 3 players on defense look to be healthy again.  All we have to do is beat them Packers and Aaron Rodgers at Lambert field in Prime Time on NBC.

SKOL Vikes!!!

They Were Who I Thought They Were

At halftime with the Lions up 17-0 I wrote on Facebook:
When the Lions kicked the 2nd field goal.  I thought the Lions just might have it.  When they lateraled back to Rodgers.  I thought they had it for a second, but then the flag came out.  The rest is now Packer Lore.  They were who I thought they were.

Unfortunately the chances of the Vikes winning the division just dropped significantly.  Still my 3 Paths to the Superbowl for the Vikes still stand.  Come on Vikes, show the birds who's boss the next two weeks.

Unfortunately I can't find the meme of Zimmer's Bird Hunting Trip I saw today.

Update:  Well that game didn't go well.  The Hawks kicked our butt, while the refs kicked us in the nads repeatedly when it seemed we did something right.

Grilled Cheese!!!

Well Rogers clearly sold out "the Belt" for the Discount Double Check. Looks like Rogers should of kept the money as his game winning mojo was gone. Didn't even make the NFC Championship.

Bye Bye Cheese!

Green Bay Packers Super Bowl Champions

I suppose they earned it, sort of. On the 1st Green Bay touchdown drive the refs missed a blatant hold on 3rd down that allowed Green Bay to get the 1st Down. Troy Aikmen remarked that he was amazed it wasn't called. If Green Bay has to punt there they don't get there 1st and immediately following 2nd touchdown and it is a totally different game. Pittsburgh outscored Green Bay after those two touchdowns.

Still the Steelers had the chance to win the game and they didn't get it, so congratulations Cheeseheads. The worst part: Who believes this is Aaron Rodgers last Super Bowl Game?
