I live on the border of Indiana and Michigan. Indiana has a year round bass season - thank goodness. Michigan on the other hand has closed season from the 1st of the year until the last Saturday in April. From then until the last Saturday in May it is only catch and release. If I lived in a state with no option to fish for bass until almost June I would go crazy. Since I always practice catch and release I wouldn't think twice if a bass hit my jig or crankbait while I was "targeting" dogfish.

I would hate to think you could get in trouble for "accidentally" catching a bass! Uh oh!
