News On Minnesocold Bass Seasons

 

It looks like we have one more year of a closed bass season in MN before the state does away with a completely closed season for bass in favor of allowing catch and release fishing for bass year round.

From Jimmy Houston's Facebook I learned that Minn Kota is an abbrivation of Minnesota & North Dakota and the name came because The Minn Kota Manufacturing Company was started in Fargo/Moorhead.

More Snow

We got another 8-10 inches today and it's cold. Gotta love Minnesocold.

I don't think it is looking good for getting the permanent ice house out this winter.

Update: I went out to play ball with Patti and was surprised to see only 3 or so inches on the drive way. The drifts that I saw just outside the garage fooled me. I don't think we got more than 5 inches.

Minnesota Town Hits 54 Below Zero

Temperatures plummeted across the eastern half of the nation Monday, approaching an all-time record in northern Minnesota and freezing the Gulf Coast as a river of Arctic air pushed southward.

Thermometers registered a low of 54 degrees below zero at Embarrass, Minn.

"You keep living, but it gets old after a while," said Christine Mackai, the town clerk for the community of 691 people in northeast Minnesota.

Apparently here on the shores of Platte Lake it got down to around -35Farenheit but we don't know for sure cause we bottomed out the thermometer. BRRRRRRRRRR!
