Holmer Won My MN Blogger Bass Derby Yet Again

I thought that Andy's Bass Blog had managed to beat Holmer of Bass Utopia this year, but then I realized I missed one of Holmer's fish and sure enough the upgrade on the cull was enough to beat out Andy by a quarter of a pound.  That makes it the 5th straight year Holmer has won the Derby.  Overall the top weights were way down this year.  Holmers weight of 26.54lbs would have got him 3rd Place each of the two previous years.

This year we had 2 fish over 6lbs both caught by Carl Spande of BassMN.com.

3rd Place went to Jason Dudek Fishing with 26.09lbs

Congratulations Guys!!!

I'm mulling changing things up for 2014, we'll see.

The Bass Pundit Minnesocold Bloggers Derby Has Started for 2013

Jason Holmer was credited with the 1st fish of 2013 under the Josh Douglas Rule.  Look at that Beast 5.81lb Smallie.  I will be adding photo's the next few days at the Derby Blog.  Rich Lindgren also had a Josh Douglas Rule fish this year, which will go up tomorrow.   I myself have 4 fish at this point and I know Rich has some more as well.  So Derby participants blog about those bass and I would appreciate it if you let me know you got one.  by Facebooking me,  leaving a message at one of my blogs, or emailing me at basspundit@hotmail.com.

Jersey's For St. Jude's Auction

Brandon Palaniuk, Chris Lane, A-Mart, Luke Clausen, Ott Defoe, Brent Ehrler, Paul Elias, Randall Tharp, Scott Martin, Dave Lefebre and Dave Dudley all have Jersey's up for auction this year.  Be sure to check it out the auctions all end on Sunday.  I'm not sure if there is going to be a second round of auctions or not.

Don't got the cha-ching to put down on a jersey, but want to give to St. Jude's.  I recommend giving to either
Jason Holmer or Glenn Walker who are both giving away prizes to their contributors this year.  Or also Paul Strege who puts together the auctions.

Holmer Dropping Bombs Breaks 30lb Barrier

Minnesota Bass Fishing Wins Derby!!!

For the 2nd year in a row Jason Holmer of the blog Minnesota Bass Fishing has won the Bass Pundit Minnesocold Bass Bloggers Derby also taking Big Bass honors for the 2nd straight year with another 7lber. Jason's 5 fish creel went 28.32lbs which unbelievably is .60 of a pound less than his Derby record bag of last year.

2nd Place goes to Rich's Bassin Blog with an impressive 27.35lb bag.

3rd Place goes to JoshDouglas.com blog with 25.32lbs

This year 16 blogs had fish, which is 1 more entrant than last year and actually 2 more blogs than last year because my friend Pete who isn't a blogger, but was in the Derby last year.

This was my best Derby yet with 23.50lbs.
