Tribute Lilah Loo
I don't remember my reaction when Mom called to tell me that she would be bringing my brother Steve's recently adopted dog back home with them from Florida. We still lived at the lake place in 2005, and she bolted several times over the first few years both at the lake place and here where we live now. She and Patti Lou made fast friends. She was often my bed buddy sleeping up by my head or under the covers. She got along OK with the cat. She and Kaylee do not so much, mainly because Kaylee doesn't play nice with other animals much of the time. The little yipper won me over with her personality, and I'm sure going to miss her.

12 Years Ago Today ...(Lilah)
...Lilah arrived in Minnesocold a little tired from her journey here from Puerto Rico via my brother in Florida who's family didn't want to keep the little yipper. She's still going strong and maybe a little less yippie unless she hears a dog across the street. Then she's as big and ferocious as she ever was.
I wasn't real big on the little dog to start, but I've grown to love my little bed buddie.

2015 When Will I See My Driveway? #2, Plus Bonus GOMH
I thought there would be more progress by now. It was in the low 40's yesterday and 50 degrees today.
I suspect I will be able to see it all on Wednesday.
I was surprised, there was no open water. That is water on top of ice.
My ice fishing season may very well be over.

2014 When Will I See My Driveway? #1
It's time once again for what has become a tradition here at Bass Pundit Blog; "When Will I See My Driveway." I first started tracking this sign of Spring on March 5th of 2010. With the way the forecast is looking. I may not be taking any pictures for a couple of days. However, the snow is probably going to go pretty quick as the ice is off of a lot of the driveway at this point from the melting we have already had. I got the picture today because we had a light dusting last night that covered up the spots that were already bare driveway.

Our New Dog (Kaylee)
This is our new dog Kaylee. She is a mutt from the Leech Lake reservation that we got yesterday from the Humane Society at Little Falls. She is obviously part shepherd mixed with who knows what else. She didn't take to me right away when she met me here at the house. She definitely likes Mom and Dad over me at this point, but we are getting along well. She is a sweetie pie. She shows almost no interest in the cat,so they are getting along. Lilah, our chihuahua mix, and her haven't gotten into it yet, which is good sign. She seems to be pretty mellow and mild mannered. She doesn't seem to know any commands. I'm working on sit. She isn't a very diligent student, so this may take a few days.
I think she's gonna be a keeper.

2011 When Will I See My Driveway? #5
Well March comes to an end today and as I write this post, it is currently snowing outside. Weather.com says "no significant snow accumulations" so that's nice, tomorrows edition of WWISMD will tell the tale.
Spring Note- Today I saw my first robin of the spring. It was a round fat one right outside the bathroom window. I got to witness first hand why it was a little chub; As I watched it the bird caught two different worms to eat. I was impressed.

The new family member: Lilah!
How's this for compunction? I'm all set to take the new dogs picture but when I do, she does this:

As if to say; "No picutres Please! It's been a long trip from Florida and I need my beauty sleep.
Just what we needed, another Diva Dog.
I have not made up my mind about this little one yet. Is she more of a rat than a weasel or Paris Hilton Twinkerbell Dog.

Actually, Lilah seems to be a pretty cool little mut and I kind of feel sorry for her. I wonder, which is worse for her, having to live under the intimidation of my darling niece Haley or having to deal with Pattie Lou.

From Mom and Dad's reports on the road, I thought Lilah was gonna come right in and establish herself as Alpha female, but Pattie isn't having that. Pattie seems to know who is smaller and how all she needs to do is throw her size and weight around and Lilah won't be able to compete. Lilah doesn't seem to know the meaning of quit or give up at least until Pattie gets a little to physical and then Lilah runs away.
Update: Lilah went to the Rainbow Bridge 5/9/2018
