Casey Takes Over 2nd in Blogger Derby.

This 5.69lb Toad bit on a Stanley Ribbit Frog. Chalk up another lunker for Casey's Catch of the Day blog.

Derby Blog Here...

Update: Casey caught a 19 incher and is now just .01 behind Jason Holmer. Had his digital scale been set right he might have taken the lead but because he had the scale set to metric he is getting an inches to pounds conversion.

A Week Gone By

It's hard to believe a whole week has gone by since I last blogged. I haven't been fishing. Dad is guiding me on the installation of the new impeller and things have not gone as smoothly to this point as I would have hoped. Maybe things will work out but I have zero confidence in my mechanical aptitude and if I had it to do all over again, I would pay someone who knows what they are doing.

I need to get to work on updating some weights on the Bass Pundit Minnesocold Bass Bloggers Derby 2009 Here's a couple of pics of fish that I have yet to enter.
This is Casey of Casey's Catch of the Day blog with a 18.25"

And here is Sport of Sport's Outdoors Forum with a 19.5"

Updated: The blog and standings are now updated.

Bass Pundit Minnesocold Bass Bloggers Derby 2009 is now ready.

I think I pretty well have the Bass Pundit Minnesocold Bass Bloggers Derby 2009 blog put together. Basically this years derby is open to any blogger who catches a bass 17 inches or 3lbs or bigger North of Minnesota's Southern border. The biggest 5 fish limit on November 15th wins the bragging rights and who knows, maybe I will throw in a prize or something. The competition actually opened May 2nd, but a fish only counts if it comes from a body of water where bass are in season. Last year it took a 5lb+ average to win.

If you don't have a blog but want to participate, start up a blog and start blogging about all those big fish you catch.

As of right now Rich's Bassin Blog is the only one with fish. But Fishing Hype has fish pending from the St. Jude's Tournament.

2009 Bass Pundit Minnesocold Blogger Bass Tournament

Cyberfish of MT Bucket has been bugging me to host another bass derby on the blog. Last year of coarse I did the "Bass Pundit Minnesocold Bass Derby 2008." I was planning on doing another derby this year but the last week has been pretty hectic so I haven't gotten around to doing the necessary prep yet. This year the derby will be open to all the bass fishing bloggers of Minnesota. The derby will start retro-active to this coming weekend, the WI bass opener. This year any bass caught North of the Southern Minnesota Border will count, so WI, and MI will be in play. So Minnesota bloggers should be tracking those big fish starting this weekend remember 17 inch minimum.
