I shift ton of progress toward ice out is going to happen this week. Water levels should rise quickly and shorelines without snow will suck up the sun's warmth. I think ice out happens between the 24th and 27th.

2023, When Will I See My Driveway? #3

 Took the parents up to see Steve and Kim tonight, so I didn't take driveway pics until after dark. It got to 54 ℉ today with a little bit of rain in the morning. It was mostly sunny after the rain passed.  Snow should be off the roof of the house tomorrow. I will be surprised if the driveway isn't clear by Wed night. The driveway will probably be a water thoroughfare by then, with all the snow that gonna melt in the next few days.

2023, When Will I See My Driveway? #2

 It's been a while since my last driveway post. It was sunny the last couple of days and melting weather with temps in the low 40s yesterday and low 50s today. We are supposed to get some rain on Easter and another good day of melting before Water Warmegdon on Tuesday. The farther I can move snow away from the house over the next couple of days, the better. I think it is going to get ugly around here on Tuesday.

GOMH 4/6 & 4/7, Got Skunked on the 7th

4/6 Sunny with 33℉ high temp took pictures around 4:30PM, it got to single digits overnight hence the thin ice layer on the 7th

I fished for half an hour on the 7th, and got skunked.

Will I Catch A Fish In April

 The last month that I failed to catch a fish was February 2020. So for three years running, I have caught fish each month. Looking at the current forecast, I better get to stepping because the lakes will soon be a sloppy mess, and it is risky to count on bullheads at the Grumpy Old Man Hole; if the weather turns cool again

Open Water @GOMH, No Foolin'

 

With the cold weather this week, I figured the Grumpy Old Man Hole would be locked up this evening, but it wasn't. The next two days are supposed to be nice, then we get what will hopefully be the last snowstorm of this winter on Tues/Wed.

Spring Ahead! No Fooling

 After one final blast of winter and snow next week, the outlook finally turns to Spring. I think it's 50/50 on the ice going off Platte Lake by May 1. Hope to have the backyard plowed out by Monday evening.
